Hi fellow Canadians,
I started using coinberry recently. I went through their authentication process which uses a Canadian credit bureau to kyc. Anyway, they had no problem allowing me to fund my account. How great I thought! They take my money pretty fast and let me quickly buy and sell through their exchange.
However, now that I tried to withdraw my cryptos to a safer storage, they sent me an email saying "due to activity on your account, we require more documents/information to prove it's you". Additionally, they locked my account and I can't access my funds until I give them additional documents! Just as I had withdrawn my cryptos. It said the transaction was confirmed and they would "process"
As far as I know I haven't done anyhing suspicious. I did cancel a transaction because they are REALLY REALLY slow at withdrawals(literally waited hours) plus they don't let you withdraw until after 72 hours you deposit. I tried to withdraw my cryptos and now my account is locked and I don't know if the confirmed transactions will even go through! I'm still waiting and I haven't received them to my wallet!
This is a warning to anyone (especially Canadians) who plan on using coinberry. They seem legit ….. But they are literally holding my currencies hostage right now. I replied to their email right away(about my account activity) to find what caused this and if they will process the transactions.. because well, they are my currencies! And I already sent them! But so far no answer and no response and I still haven't received my currencies. It's been over a day since they sent me the email. I replied within minutes. No answer. Nothing.
I feel uncomfortable giving them more of my info if this is how they handle my currency. Anyone else experience this? What do I do?
