Wash the quinoa thoroughly. cups of water 1 tablespoon of oil Pinch of turmeric (haldi) 1/2 teaspoon of salt For vegetables 1/2 cup of corn 1/2 cup of green peas 1/2 cup of chopped carrot 1 tablespoon of oil 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds (jeera) 1/4 teaspoon of black mustard (rai) 1 bay leaf (tejpat) 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger (adrak) 1 chopped green chilli (hari mirch) 1/2 teaspoon of salt For garnishing 1 tablespoon of lemon juice And 3/4 cup of chopped tomatoes. Quinoa vegetable pulao I will cook in 2 parts. First I will cook quinoa separately and vegetables separately. Mix it together and garnish with tomato. This is a easy recipe and you will enjoy it. First I will cook quinoa.
Heat is on, medium high. Put the water. Quinoa Turmeric Salt And oil. And bring it to boil. Quinoa has come to boil. I will lower the heat to low and cover. Let it cook till all the water has evaporated. And this should take about 15 minutes. And do not stir it in between. While quinoa is getting ready I will prepare the vegetables. Heat is on, medium high. First I will add the oil. And wait till oil is moderately hot. It should take few seconds. Oil is ready. So I will first add the cumin seeds. Black mustard seeds. And bay leaf. Stir. And now add the vegetables. Corn Carrot Green peas Green chilli Ginger And salt. Mix it. Lower the heat to medium. And cover, cook till vegetables are tender. This should take about 4-5 minutes. This has been about 5 minutes. So let’s check the vegetables. And they are looking good, tender. So turn off the heat. And we will still wait. Till quinoa is ready to mix. It has been about 15 minutes. So let’s check the quinoa. This is ready and looking good.
