Hey health nuts and welcome back to the HealthNut kitchen. Today we are making a very big trending latte right now. We are making an easy golden milk latte. I’m doing a little bit of a different twist on mine than I’ve seen on other channels and recipes, but it’s super easy, it’s delicious and it’s prefect because you can kind of make it ahead of time, store it in the fridge and then just heat it up whenever you feel like a nice golden milk latte treat.
Alright so let’s hop right into the recipe and then I will show you guys how to make it. For this recipe you’re going to need, raw almonds soaked in water over night, tumeric root, and this is what tumeric root looks close up, you could also use the powder if you don’t have the root, you’ll need ginger root, raw honey, cinnamon, black peppers activate the tumeric and some sea salt. In large high speed blender you want to add in your almonds that have been rinsed and drained. Top it off with some filtered water, ginger, tumeric and then add in your spices, and then drizzle that honey in for sweetness. Blend everything up until smooth and creamy. Once it’s blended up this is what it should look like. Next you’ll need a large bowl and then you can either use some cheesecloth which is super inexpensive, I’ll link some down below, or a nut milk bag which you’ve seen me use in the past and then you’re just gonna strain your nut milk mixture through the cheese cloth to catch all the pulp.
Be careful because the tumeric can stain your hands. I find it’s a little more watered down with this mixture, but you might want to use gloves if you’re going somewhere right afterwards. So you can just start squeezing out the milk from the cheesecloth or nut milk bag until you get a nice dry pulp and all of the liquid is in the bowl, and then when you’re ready to drink your latte, all you have to do is warm some up on a sauce pan on like low heat. You want to make sure that you do not bring it to a boil, keep whisking it and just slightly warm it up at a temperature that’s good for you. If you boil it you will burn it and it turns into like a really weird texture, trust me I’ve done this a couple times. You can also just refrigerate this and drink it cold in the morning, it’s delicious. I add it to my smoothies, but yeah I like it warm at night as well, and as you can see the color is really now that more golden yellow color that you traditionally see in a golden milk latte.
This drink is just the perfect thing to have before bed. It’s super warming with the spices, super antiinflammatory, and it’s just like so good for your body inside and out. Alright so that’s how you make my golden milk latte recipe. I hope you guys give it a try and if you’ve never had golden milk before you’re in for a treat, it’s so delicious, it doesn’t taste too strong and even though a lot of people think tumeric tastes like curry because it’s in curry it doesn’t at all, it just gives curry that really strong yellow coloring, and if you even just like Googled tumeric you will see a list of benefits, it’s so good for you, it’s great for your skin, it’s antiinflammatory, it’s the perfect like super food to add into your diet any way you can, I add it to my smoothies, into my golden milk.
