That doesn’t mean Paytas doesn’t wish the claim were true, though. As it turns out, Paytas is a Tarantino superfan. Her Facebook screen name was once Trisha Tarantino and photos of Tarantino decorated her account. She even started her YouTube channel as a Tarantino stan account of sorts.
In a 2016 YouTube video, Paytas explains how she “knows” Tarantino. Paytas moved to Los Angeles, California, after high school as she was inspired to live a Tarantino-esque lifestyle.
“I am going to be an actress. I am going to meet Quentin Tarantino. He will fall in love with me. We will get married. I will be the lead in every single one of his films. He will be like Uma who?” Paytas says in the 40-minute video. “Definitely didn’t happen.”
Paytas met the director a few times in her twenties–hence the photographic evidence. The photo of them hugging comes from a fan signing event. “Meeting Quentin Tarantino takes the fucking cake,” Paytas says.
Tarantino recently married his longtime girlfriend Daniella Pick, and Paytas went on to become one of the biggest stars on YouTube, constantly blessing us with amazing content, from mukbangs to the occasional video of her sobbing on her kitchen floor.
“I was that crazy fan. And I would say I still am, but I have gotten my own career, job, boyfriend,” Paytas says.
